With the City going greener in the future, many question are coming up about what items will be allowed to be placed at the street during trash pick up. It's my understanding that the only items that will fit in the blue containers will be picked up. I seen an ad in the photo journal asking the residents to call for FREE pick up of Appliances and other recyclable items. The number in the photo journal is 986-1113.

I don't see the blue containers as a great option. They limit the consumer and are not part of our current contract.

Just a side note, the ad you quoted was placed by a private individual and is separate from our regular trash pickup. While the ad states free pickup and the service may solve an immediate problem, in the long run it may add to our individual costs on a future contract. Like con_alma, I would like to believe that what we recycle helps to reduce our contract costs.
