Remember the freaky guy that would hang out at Mill Hollow and try to bust people there after the park closed.

We all called him the Park Narc...He lived at the top of the hill on Vermilion Rd

He drove an old beat up station wagon with a bumper sticker that said "If You Want To Sing, Sing Out"

What a creep... By the way, he wasn't even a Ranger, and I heard he was arrested for shooting an arrow at someone

Remember the SOHIO Service Station across from the Crows Lumber, Harry Hays Owned it. and the Ford Dealership where the Convenient Store is located right now. And the 10-0 Football Team we had.

I heard it was removed because Gothic kids started to worship it.

I wouldn't doubt that a bit. The rumor was that if you touched her face at a certain time on a certain date, it would feel like real skin. Sorry to hear it was removed. I took a picture of it long ago that I'll look for.

The "Tribute to Alice" angel was taken away, supposedly to be repaired as her hands were missing.I don't believe it has been returned to it's gravesite.Check with Judy Riddle at the funeral home as she manages that cemetary.

Do you remember when Vermilion had a swim race team at the Y pool. After swimming early in the morning we would ride our bikes to cunningham drug in the shopping center. They had a snack bar and booths and we would get hot cocoa and play on the juck box,"In the year 2525". Also there was a donut shop accross the street where Key banks parking lot is. Where the apartments are was trails and high grass where we would ride our bikes which our parents bought us at Western Auto, also in the shopping center.

Wow- what great memories!!!  We still pride ourselves in being a 'Skipper" and not a 'Seahawk." We were one of the last classes at VMS. Those were the days.  Dancing to "We Are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You."  We had a blast.  Mcgarvey's was a happening place.  As a child we would go there one a year and after dinner we could pick a toy from the treasure chest.  I remember the bunny pear salads and clown ice-cream cones there.
I remember I bought my first record at Grey's Drugstore,
The movie theater was the bomb.  We could walk up from our house. That was the greatest!  Papa Joes pizza subs. YUM- very affordable for us.  It is funny to go back and realize how lucky we were to grow up here.
Memories-- gym class and group showers, big combs in the back pockets, parking at Sherod!!! ha!  FUN times!

OK, I was eating at the Nest the other day and was looking at the old Menus on the wall. Remember 10 cent coffee,  20 cent hot dogs, 30 cent burgers, a strip steak meal for $1.95? Those were the good ol days!!!!
