The purchase of the Wakefield property along the river for public use is a huge victory for the community...doubling the public access of Main Street beach as well as a likely beautification of the waterfront and possibly the pier. This is a real victory on the mayor-elect\'s part, as the seeds for this move were sewn nearly a decade ago with planning and community partnerships. See what happens when we work together! This news is just a taste of the good things to come.
Some might ask what the difference is between the Showse project and the Main Street project. I say, there is none really, as they are both good for the city. And since they are funded differently, it doesn\'t matter. One benefits a residential area, the other benefits the main commercial center of the community
To think Vermilion might score two new beachfronts over the next few years is tremendous. You have to build the economy you have, and you have the lake and the tourist economy. Congrats to the team that saw Main Street through, even when private development threatened to take away more waterfront.

Shes probably scared to death hiding under someones car or trailer. Shes friendly but scared when outside(shes an indoor only cat & declawed) PLEASE if you see her, coax her with food and call me or just call me and let me know where you saw her last.
We live on Elberta drive, so she has to be in the Elberta Beach area
helpful hint: she has thumbs

thanksI feel sorry for those of you who thought that Jean was going to calmly serve as mayor for the next 2 months and quietly return to civilian life. I was laying my money on a final screwing to the city and a nice middle finger to the law from our "Honorable" mayor. I am not happy to say that I was correct.
You see there is this position that has opened up in the water department and I have been told that a familiar face to us all is the front runner for the job.....Anyone care to guess?? No it is not Phil D, DGH, Skip Griffith or even the Fonz all very good candidates but not even close to the credentials of this man. He has been known to move thousands of boxes, serve as rec department assistant superintendent, part time help in the utilities department, youth coordinator of the city, full time utilities clerk (thanks for the $27,000 water bill). A.k.a. operation liaison lets give it up for....... K.M. Baughman. YES! The word on the street is my man is back in town!

LETTER: Alternative health care plans
I got up this morning went to take a shower and the water was nasty brown. I saw they were flushing hydrants, on my way to a friends house to get a shower but what happened to the notice they give? I looked in my last water bill and nothing was there. I watched channel 2 for an hour and nothing was on there. I even checked that thing they call a city website and under city services all it says is, "coming soon". What the heck? A little warning would have been nice!!!!! BTW they were working on the ones on West River by the quarry place (I think that is what that is now) a couple hours ago so watch for the beautiful brown stuff coming out of your faucet! They did ours before 10am and it is still gross!!!
